| Other Info | Lisa Dames stars in Victory Lane: One Woman's Quest for the Checkered Flag in the UpStage Cabaret at Triad Stage in Greensboro, NC. In this one-woman musical “NASComedy” the fast lane is stalled to a screeching halt by the arrival of a woman driver on the NASCAR scene. Her rival driver, and the love of her life, wants to sabotage her success. Announcers, sponsors and even Richard Petty himself show up in this fast-paced story of NASCAR drivers and their pursuit of high-octane glory. Janet Allard, Professor of Theatre at UNCG, has adapted her play Vrooommm! A NASComedy into a one woman show especially for the UpStage Cabaret space. Commissioned by Signature Theatre, Vrooommm! was developed at Theatreworks in Palo Alto and at Playlabs in Minneapolis. Victory Lane is directed by Triad Stage Artistic Associate Bryan Conger and musically directed by local singer/songwriter Sam Frazier. |
